Meet the Trainer

"I am dedicated to improving the relationship between dogs and their people, through education and training."

Dog training is more than just ability; it is all about Trust.

Jonathan Street is a former United States Marine, and a graduate of the International School for Dog Trainers (ISDT), where he studied and trained extensively under Martin Deeley and James Hamm, both of which are ranked among the top ten dog trainers in the world.  He is also a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), and has been awarded the E-Touch certification, and is a Certified Technical Trainer+.

Jonathan is personally mentored by James Hamm, the Lonestar Dog Trainer.  James is the former President of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), and is responsible for leading the  preservation of balanced and humane approaches to dog training, continuing education for trainers and K9 professionals, public education on K9 issues, bite prevention for children, animal husbandry, informing and protecting the public while maintaining the highest standards of training to support dog owners.  James is also a consultant to top manufactures of training aids and training products.

Jonathan has also studied under Martin Deeley, an internationally renowned gundog and pet dog trainer from England who is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the IACP, as well as a renowned author.  He was the head coach of the United States Retriever Team.  In April 2011 Martin was inducted into the International Association of Canine Professionals Hall of Fame alongside Cesar Millan.  He has been a feature writer for leading American and European magazines, and is the only journalist ever granted a personal interview with Her Majesty the Queen of England.

The most important element is to have trust and confidence in your trainer.  If you aren't sure, if something doesn't seem quite right, or if the trainer does not seem like a good fit for you and your lifestyle than you must move on and find someone else.  Skills and ability do not matter if you don't like the person you are hiring to teach you, train your dog and work in and around your home and family.  If trust and confidence are not there, you will second guess advice, search out information and practice techniques viewed on the internet or TV, and you and your dog will suffer.

My promise to you is that I will be honest and dedicated to you and your dog, regardless.  So when we meet, you will have the opportunity to determine for yourself if I am the right trainer for you before any commitments are made.  I want you to be happy and know you have my best effort and I have your best interests as my top priority with your pet.

I am dedicated to improving the relationship between dogs and their people, through education and training.
